The SNF: Physicians’ Administrative Compensation Data Subscription provides raw compensation data for administrative physician compensation arrangements reported by a subset of free-standing skilled nursing facilities (“SNFs”), as well as hospital-based SNFs participating in Medicare and Medicaid.
Hospitals and SNFs are required to identify compensation paid to physicians for administrative services on Medicare cost report worksheet A-8-2. If time logs are not kept by the physicians, then reporting organizations are required to perform two-week time studies twice each year to identify the amount of time physicians spend on administrative duties, which are signed by the physician and a reporting organization official (42 CFR 415.60).
HCTadvisor licenses access to this data set on a 12-month basis with new data updates distributed quarterly. The data points include facility, name, city, state, cost report number, total administrative physician compensation, administrative hours reported, total related cost center costs, and more.
