SNF/NF Finance Data

HCTadvisor’s Skilled Nursing / Nursing Facility Finance Data subscription gives you access to thousands of income statements, balance sheets, and operations statistics for skilled nursing (SNF) and nursing facilities (NF).  Data is also included for SNF capital expenditures and square footage by cost center.

SNF Finance Download Documents Include:

Nearly all U.S. SNF/NF data for FY2016-2019 data is accessible now, as well as 1,000 records for FY2020. HCTadvisor will release new SNF/NF data to existing subscribers as it becomes available. HCTadvisor licenses access to this data set on a 12-month subscription basis.

SNF CapEx Module

The SNF / NF Capital Expenditure Data Module provides detailed data on SNF asset classes, asset acquisitions, and asset disposals reported by about 14,000 U.S. skilled nursing facilities participating in Medicare and/or Medicaid.  This data is useful for capital planning and trend analysis.

SNFs are required to identify gross assets in service for patient care on Medicare cost report worksheet A-7 for land, land improvements, buildings, building improvements, fixed equipment, and movable equipment.  New asset acquisitions, asset disposals, and ending period balances must all be reported by asset class.

This data module includes SNF cost report worksheet A-7 data and SNF balance sheets with quarterly updates.

Important Note:

Many SNF operating businesses lease building assets from separate real estate businesses. Only about 6,000 of the 14,000 SNFs in this sample (40%) identify substantial building assets on Worksheet A-7.

  SNF Square Foot Space Planning Data Module

The SNF / NF Square Foot Space Planning Data Module provides detailed square footage by cost center for approximately 14,000 U.S. skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) participating in Medicare and Medicaid.  This data is useful for facility planning and development.

SNFs are required to allocate facility capital costs down to approximately 90 standardized cost centers on Medicare cost report worksheet B-1.  Over 98% of SNFs use square footage as the basis of allocating facility capital costs on Worksheet B-1.

This data module includes selected fields for SNF cost report worksheet B-1 data with quarterly updates.
